The producer

For our latest Iconic release, and our first ever coffee from Indonesia, we’re excited to introduce Wahana, meaning “vessels for great success”.  

Established in 2005, Wahana Estate spans 480 hectares and is home to around 200 families, who live and work together to pick and process the coffee. The estate provides housing, schools, a church and clinics, creating a close-knit coffee community.

Wahana is produced from the P88 variety, well suited to the unique microclimate and volcanic soils of Sumatra.  As a washed coffee from a region best known for wet-hulled processing, this lot is a rare find, showcasing Wahana’s dedication to exploring the flavours that can be achieved through time, care and investment.  Ripe cherries are washed, sorted and pulped before a 12-hour fermentation, then dried in parchment for around seven days. The result is a bright, fruity cup with juicy pink citrus, ripe pear and a delicate winey finish.
