The Producer

Our newest Angel Filter offering comes from Rwamatamu, a producer of exceptional Arabica coffee in Rwanda’s highlands. Enriched by volcanic soils and nurtured by the region’s mild climate, these ideal growing conditions contribute to a coffee of remarkable quality and character.

The company was founded not only as a business venture but also as a means to address poverty in rural areas through fair wages, consistent employment, and support for women in coffee farming.

Processed at Rwamatamu’s Mbare washing station in Rwanda’s Southern Province, this coffee is hand-sorted, fermented, washed and dried on raised beds for up to 22 days. Careful processing at every stage brings out Rwanda’s signature clarity, sweetness and vibrant fruit character.

Expect notes of raisin, cherry and honeycomb, with layers of ripe fruit, delicate sweetness and a clean finish.
