This latest Iconic release explores a more experimental side of Rwanda’s coffee potential. Produced by Kinini, it showcases the precision behind their approach to anaerobic fermentation.
Kinini was established to improve quality, market access and long-term sustainability for coffee producers in the region. Alongside investments in infrastructure and agronomy, 10% of the funds received from coffee sales support a local health centre and school, helping strengthen the wider community.
For this lot, ripe cherries are delivered to the washing station on the day of harvest before undergoing a carefully controlled anaerobic fermentation. By limiting oxygen during fermentation, the process enhances sweetness, structure and aromatic complexity while maintaining
clarity in the cup.
The result is a juicy, fruit-driven coffee with notes of pineapple, mandarin and butterscotch, followed by melon and papaya. Bright, sweet and full of tropical character.
