The producer

It has been a moment since we last had a coffee from Kenya in our range, and we are overjoyed to be able present one to you this year! Muthuaini AB represents everything we love about Kenyan coffee.

The Muthuaini factory sits in one of the most elevated positions of the area, benefiting from optimum conditions to produce and process a high quality Kenyan coffee. Cherries are carefully selected and pulped, and then undergo an overnight fermentation before being meticulously graded and dried for 8-12 days on specialised tables that ensure the coffee is evenly dried.

The Mutheka society have enlisted a top level agronomist, who focuses on training farmers to equip them with the knowledge to ensure sustainable agriculture alongside high cup quality.

This cup of coffee is very juicy and bright, with a sparkling acidity that refreshes even on a cold day. Notes of rhubarb, blackcurrant, and nectarine fill the cup, with a sweetness that compliments and enhances its complexity.
